Wei Yi wins big in round 8
Another Wei Yi game for the books!
The Chinese wonderboy, Wei Yi, just 17 years old and already considered by many as Magnus Carlsen’s successor, won a brilliant sacrificial game in the 8th round of the Vietnamese tournament. His rival, a compatriot, Xu Yinglun, went into a sharp variation of the Najdorf (as he did in 2015 against the save opponent!) but this time fell victim to Wei’s home preparation. The finish is very pleasing for the spectators.
