Smiles…
Light the way!

The Hollywood-perfect smile of 27 year old social media sensation Lily Maymac. Born in Sweden and having Australian nationality, Miss Maymac has millions of followers on each of her many social media platforms, and even has her own line of — you guessed it (!) — lipstick.
But I digress. There is little doubt that a smile is an essential part of human communication, meant to put another person at ease, reduce stress and to facilitate further dialogue and to allow one to get closer.
However, scientists have discovered that there are no less than 19 different types of smiles, and, curiously, not all of them are about happiness.

Sadistic scientific experiments conducted by the notorious Carney Landis in 1924, using electric shocks and other invasive forms of torture, Landis was able to show — suprise surprise — that smiles were not always an indication of happiness and very often could be provoked emotionally under pain and duress, embarrassment and humiliation.
The reader will be glad to note that this blog does not approve of unethical and barbaric nazi-type psychological experiments, and here on this blog we ONLY promote beautiful and inspiring smiles.
