Instructive Kavalek Game
Of course I know many of Kavalek’s best games. Some even by heart! Following his death last month, I have taken a renewed interest in Kavalek’s chess career, and I have discovered numerous lesser-known beautifully played games and even a few minor masterpieces.
Below is some analysis of his fascinating game against the Finnish Champion Ilkka Kanko played at the Halle Zonal tournament of 1963. The game contains many original tactical ideas and variations. Enjoy!
