One of Spain’s most popular chess events, the traditional international tournament in Lorca is taking place between the 26th and 30th of December.

This year some 146 participants, including 11 GM’s and 17 IM’s. The time control is a fast 90 minutes per game (plus 30′ per move), with double rounds each day, allowing for 9 rounds and norm possibilities.
