Anton Kovalyov breaks 2600 barrier!
SPRAGGETT ON CHESS

Seventeen year old Anton Kovalyov has just broken the 2600 barrier! The November FIDE ratings put him in as 2601, good enough for second place in Argentina, one point below GM Flores.

I wrote several years ago that Anton has the talent to go beyond 2700, and so this little news of breaking 2600 does not come as much of a surprise to me. It was expected! Anton has all of the necessary qualities to be one of the very best of the very best in the world of chess.

KOVALYOV PUSHES BARRIER!

It is just too bad that he has not been able to get any support from the Quebec chess community, where he and his family have been living for the past 2 years. I think it is not necessary to talk of all the problems that he has had with the CFC: who does not have problems with the CFC?
In any case, keep up the good work, Anton!
