SPRAGGETT ON CHESS
I have been posting on this blog regularly– on a daily basis— for close to two and a half years now and I want to thank all of my thousands of regulars for visiting! I get quite a bit of mail from my readers and I try to respond to all –even though it may take a bit of time for that to happen. I appreciate your patience and your constructive comments!
To be honest, this blog is a labour of love and I get a kick out of writing. This blog allows me to share my views and experiences with my readers. Humour and entertainment also plays a big role, and again I want to thank my readers for sending me their contributions!
The chess world is a universe unto itself and to outsiders it contains a lot of paradoxes and contradictions compared to the modern society just beyond our chess horizions. I feel it is important to shine a light in that direction. So this blog is written for both the avid chessplayer and the non chessplayer alike. Let me emphasize that it is my pleasure to continue to write this blog!
I got an email this afternoon from a reader in Germany who just recently discovered this blog and wanted to express his gratitude and to pass on a german chess link
that my german-speaking readers might find very interesting:
Thank you very much for the very inspiring mixture of chess, interviews, women, photos, jokes, and again chess, that you are displaying on your blog. I have just come to know it, so it´s really good to take a look and be inspired. Cheers!
We have a little blog over here in Germany which is called schach-welt.de. It was set up by GM Jörg Hickl, and it has only been online for six months now. I sometimes write an article there, too, about life, chess, and suffering (at the board!). Still, I think you cover a wider field, which is very interesting to take a look at!
Thanks again!, and greetings to Canada
