Levon to win BIG in USA?
Levon Aronian, number one player of Armenia, former number two in the world, and one of the best ambassadors the game has ever seen, is about to score what could be his BIGGEST win ever. Leading the Sinquefeld Cup by a full point with only one round to go, Aronian has played solid openings , strong middle games and impeccable endgames.
Aronian’s last round opponent is Topalov, always a difficult opponent, and Levon will not be able to drop his guard. Readers will remember that it was Topalov who beat Kasparov in his last game before he retired to a life of political activisim. Topalov can win with either colour, making him an even more difficult opponent. HOWEVER, Levon’s style of play is well suited to players of Topalov’s silt…my money will be on Levon!
Meanwhile, what ever happened to SPORTSMANSHIP? What ever happened to just shaking hands and resigning like a gentleman? The current world champion, Magnus Carlsen, is setting a POOR example to all of his fans, making excuses for not winning and refusing to accept that sometimes (increasingly often, it appears) others play just as well…and maybe even better(!)…
