From the Chinese Team Championship

Always a pleasure to play over games from the very competitive Chinese Team Championship! Pitting the world’s elite players against ambitious Chinese up and comers, there is never a boring moment. And it all goes to explain why Chinese Chess is the new Soviet School.

gm Inarkiev – gm Xu,Jun

Very aggressive play by Yu, who tries energetically to punish Black’s unorthodox opening. The sacrifical ending is blistering!
Who says the Caro Kann is boring? Opposite side castling and pawn storms…and mate!
A far more measured and conservative performance by both sides, but Black is routed quickly anyway!

To be continued…
