September issue of Budapest Chess News!!
SPRAGGETT ON CHESS
The September edition of Budapest’s most popular english-language e-zine has just become available for download! You can download it here or just go to the side bar and click Good reading!
Included in this issue are 95 annotated games. (The pdf file is itself 145 pages long when printed!) A table of contents has been added to the pdf file for convenience . This issue is dedicated to the Budapest Open and the GM/IM tournaments which all ran concurrently at the same site. Background information includes some information about the organizers and arbiters. This was a wonderfully run event in a first class location. I look forward to next year’s edition.
Thanks to Kanarkiewicz,Michal(POL) and Kumala,Aleksander(POL) who contributed annotated games and Thomas Heyl(GER) who checked some analysis and gave general comments.
Happy reading!
Yes, Budapest has been invaded by the Canadians! Michael Yip has been residing in Budapest for several years now and the english only e-zine is his brilliant idea. Hungary is one of the world’s strongest chess countries and its traditions and rich culture provide ample reason for taking a close look. Up til recently, Budapest chess circles have been little known outside of Hungary.
Mr. Yip is a master level player, author, teacher and editor. His previous writings have been met with acclaim inside of Canada.
