Popular chess site GM-square has an auction going on at present of some very rare first-edition books! You should check it out. Alex Baburin writes:
”Dear reader,
I’d like to let you know that online chess auction is in progress at the GM Square website. So far 88 lots have been posted – you can view them at Among the posted lots there are some rare books, including the first edition (and the first issue!) of the Philidor – you can see it here there is already a bid of €1,400 on it.
I plan to post about 30 additional lots tonight and tomorrow morning – mostly game collections and tournament books, including a rare book on the 2nd American Chess Congress.
Bidding is slow at the moment, but that should change tomorrow, close to the time when bidding will conclude (tomorrow evening, Dublin time). If you are interested in chess literature, have a loot at our auction! Please note that in order to bid one needs to register and receive the login info. If you decide to register, please send me an e-mail as well.”
