SPRAGGETT ON CHESS
POSITION AFTER BLACK’S 27th MOVE (27…g5)
A nice attacking game! White has made no secret about attacking the Black King and Black’s last couple of moves eyed trying to reduce some of White’s firepower. HOWEVER, with the Bishop on b1 lined up to help, the un-titled teenager Svane soon brings the English star to his knees:
28. Rh7+!! KxR 29.e5+! Kg8 30.Qh2!
and the attack is unstoppable!
THE UNLIKELY HERO!
Position after 10 moves. Here White embarked on a fantastic sacrificial idea to take full control of the centre. I am not convinced that it is fully correct, but let’s just say that it worked well! Especially, watch out for White’s e-pawn: it does HEROIC things!
