A plane gets shot down over the Ukraine, and blame it on Putin. A journalist gets killed…blame it on Putin, A bomb explodes in a Moscow subway …blame it on Putin. Poroshenko violates the Minsk accord…blame it on Putin. Eastern Ukraine rebels violate the same accords…blame it on Putin. ETC. ETC.
You don’t need to be a Putin supporter to realize that the cards are stacked against Putin…what is the expression? ”Damned it you do; damned if you don’t” AND, before I forget, Kasparov does not win the FIDE presidential election…BLAME IT ON PUTIN!
Putting judgement on Putin’s flaws aside, the world today is far too COMPLEX, DYNAMIC and CONFUSED to conclude that one simple word, PUTIN, explains everything…no matter how comforting that idea might initially appear.
Kasparov likes to compare Chamberlain’s negotiations with Hitler before WWII with the west’s dealings with Putin over Ukraine, but overlooks that it was precisely Chamberlain trying to impose a SIMPLISTIC and ONE-DIMENSIONAL vision of the world that encouraged WWII to happen in the first place…today anyone who believes that just one man provoked a war that lasted six years and that killed 50,000,000 has no idea of the history of the past 100 years.
