Jason Cao (1569-1921) R.I.P.
SPRAGGETT ON CHESS
Obituary
Jason Cao was born into a loving family in 2000 and brought everyone joy and smiles. When he discovered chess he found his first real passion. Jason also learned about fair-play and the importance of playing by the rules. At age 9 Jason won the World Under 10 chess championship in Greece and everyone who knew Jason was very pleased.
Jason soon became a role model for other children everywhere in Canada. His love of chess, his unique talent, his committment to hard work and fair-play and especially his enthusiasm for the game of chess impressed everyone.
Jason’s innocence came to an abrupt end yesterday. Some of the adults that Jason looked up to could not live up to the standards that this young boy believed in and represented. Jason learned that in the adult world rules don’t apply to everyone equally . Especially, Jason discovered that if you can get away with it, then you can profit by breaking rules.
A whole chess community mourns Jason’s loss. Age nine.
