Harmony wins U-8 world title!

Congratulations to 8-year old Canadian girl Harmony Zhu for winning the U-8 section at the WYCC in the Emirates! Harmony scored 9 points in 11 games, tieing for first place with a girl from Mongolia, but winning the title on tie-break. Her Canadian rating is approximately 1800, not bad for a girl of her age! (Harmony was born on November 17, 2005)
There is a wonderful interview with Harmony that starts at 3:24:18 and runs until 3:32:30. Check it out! Learn about her white Guinea pig!
Harmony is one of those multi-talented SUPER-GIRLS with fiercely competitive parents. Harmony has already won twice her age group of the Canadian Music Competition and has even performed at Carnegie Hall! Adding the U-8 world chess title this past weekend, Harmony will find it hard to better her list of achievements! A lot depends on what her parents have in mind …the circus, perhaps!?

”I am very happy!”–Harmony Zhu
I am certain that everyone of my readers wishes Harmony the best of success in her future ventures!
