The 62nd Russian Championship ended today. Alexander Grischuk was the worthy winner, with 6.5 points out of 9, undefeated. Peter Svidler finished in 2nd place, with 6 points.
The 62nd Russian Championship ended today. Alexander Grischuk was the worthy winner, with 6.5 points out of 9, undefeated. Peter Svidler finished in 2nd place, with 6 points.
Grischuk, born 31 October 1983, finishes the year on a high note. He had won the prestigious Linares tournament earlier this year. One of the chess world’s most charismatic figures, a great blitz player (possibly the best!) and a strong poker player, Alexander is still working towards his peak in chess. I expect that in about 3 years this will happen.
