Great game from European Rapid Ch
The following game was played this past weekend during the European Rapid Championship in Tallinn, Estonia. Though the time control was a quick 15-minutes each player (plus 30-spm) and I usually don’t expect much of value from such games, this game is a pleasant exception!
The opponents are two very strong attacking grandmasters, E.Najer and K.Kulaots, and the opening is a very popular Qb6-Sicilian (called the ‘Grivas Variation’ in some books). What impresses me most about this game is how Najer effortlessly blew his opponent away. Every move he played to develop his attack seemed to be best…I think that the opening theoreticians will carefully study this game! ENJOY!
