Friday Coffee
Would You Share Your Coffee with a Stranger?

No. Absolutely no fucking way! I might buy a stranger a coffee, but my coffee is MY coffee and that I do not share. Ever. I may be a kind person, but I am not a nice person when it comes to MY coffee.
Kind people buy strangers coffee. Nice people share their coffee.
Confused? See the following video:
One of the biggest inter-personal problems today is that, ironically, there are too many nice people in the world. And not enough kind people.
Kind people ‘do’ things to make the world a better place; they try to empower others. Nice people just try to be nice for the sake of being nice.

Congrats to Sabrina Vega!!

Awarded the Queen Sofia prize for Fair Play
Sabrina refused to play in Saudi Arabia
Sabrina Vega, Champion of Spain, just hours before celebrating her 32nd birthday yesterday, learned that she had been honoured by the Consejo Superior de Deportes in Spain with the Queen Sofia prize for fair play. The official justification dates back to 2017 when Sabrina refused to participate in the World Blitz & Rapid championships in Saudi Arabia, in protest against the obvious discrimination against women.
Readers will remember that a handful of other women also boycotted the Saudi event, including the Muzychuk sisters Maria and Anna.

French cheaters face prison sentence

Prosecutor wants 9-month suspended sentence
France is making an example of the 3 individuals associated with the National Team participating at the 2010 Olympiad who created an elaborate cheating scheme that was later denounced by the French Chess Federation (FFE).
Grandmaster S. Feller, Grandmaster A. Hauchard and IM C.Marzolo have already been punished by the French Chess Federation (FFE) in 2011 with multiple-year suspensions, but the criminal case still continues and sometime in May (the 27th) the final sentence will be handed down.
The French prosecutor wants a 9-month suspended prison sentence for each.
I have already written extensively on this scandal, and here are some links to previous blog articles:

Personally, I feel that the punishment inflicted on the 3 individuals has already exceeded their cheating, but in France many feel that any cheating done while representing France internationally must be severe.
