Flores wins 7th Argentina Title!
Closing in on Najdorf’s Record!
Congratulations to 37 year old Grandmaster Diego Flores for winning his 7th Argentine Championship! Just one short of the record set by legendary Miguel Najdorf. Next year no doubt!
Flores led all the way and was undefeated, but was very closely followed by Fernando Peralta–(photo below)–who finished just a half point behind. Peralta had lost to the talented IM Leonardo Tristan, who earned his final gm-norm as a result of is 3rd place finish. Congrats!
