Fide Presidents
FIDE Presidents since the beginning
Fide was founded in Paris in 1924–next year will mark 90-years! Surprisingly, there have been only 6 presidents since that date!
Could this possibly explain in part why FIDE–and chess in general– has been slowly (quickly!?) phased out of sponsorship from any major corporation and hardly exists at all on TV or in major newspapers and magazines? Change is the spice of LIFE!
The world is no longer the same as it was even 10 or 15 years ago, and that which REFUSES to change or adapt can find itself fighting for survival…and ultimately extinction.
