FIDE mathematics for idiots
SPRAGGETT ON CHESS
Both Karpov and Ilyumzhinov are presently in Khanty Mansiysk as the countdown to the FIDE congress ticks away…still no word from CAS (Court of Arbitration in Lausanne). Still no word from Harry Potter either….it appears that Karpov might just have to stand on his campaign platform and his pledges as the polls open next week — oh, isn’t life so unfair sometimes, Anatoli!. Unless, ofcourse, the cavalry comes riding over the hill and saves the day…
In anycase, while Ilyumzhinov does have friends in high places who warp around in fancy spaceships and use worm holes like I use doors, I don’t think FIDE’s math is likely to revolutionize physics as it is presently taught in highschool. My personal favourite remains Einstein’s contribution:

Better to have stuck with simple slogans, however, as re-arranging the obove equation sends another impression:

And of course my readers will recognize the law of nature:
Did they put the chess board on wrong, again?
