”Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off.”
In the face of mounting publicity and outrage at the shocking and indifferent behaviour of the BC chess community towards the wife and daughter of well known chess organizer Peter Stockhausen , Lynn Stringer felt compelled to issue a public statement on chesstalk this morning. The readers will be able to see for themselves how much credibility Lynn has left…
”When I first heard that Peter was missing, I called a mutual friend who assured me that Peter was well and that there was nothing to worry about and that there was no need to involve the police. I then gave this information to the BC Chess president who then posted this on chess Talk I have not seen Peter or talked to him for about ten years and there is no personal friendship whatsoever. All of these accusations against me are untrue.
Please convey my sympathy to her and Silken for this unfortunate situation. I do value my good name and she does not need to defame me in anyway. At 81 I should not have to defend myself.
How many lies has Lynn written here? I would not know where to begin to separate the lies from the truth in these statements by Lynn Stringer, and I certainly will not waste my time doing so here today . Feel free to read my previous blog entries describing the longstanding and intimate relationship between Lynn and Peter.
For someone who claims to have had absolutely no contact with Peter Stockhausen for 9 or 10 years, I see listed 2 tournaments where Peter played and the director was none other than…Lynn Stringer! The date of the most recent tournament is 2003. And we should also not forget that the 2002 Canadian Championship held in Vancouver (not listed on the page referenced) was organized by Peter himself… and Lynn was an arbiter in this same event!
One mistake might be forgiveable, but when those ‘mistakes’ become 2 and 3….we just have to realize that we are faced with a lie. The most easily refutable lie, ofcourse.
The readers who have followed this remarkable story of a chess community’s efforts to destroy the lives of the family of Peter Stockhausen will undoubtedly feel the same revulsion and shock that I feel.
Peter Stockhausen went missing in May of this year, telling his boss that he had something to take care of. He never returned to work. The RCMP contacted the wife, Karen Richards, to let her know of his disappearance. Several stories were run in local newspapers reporting the disappearance.
It turned out that Peter Stockhausen had disappeared on purpose, taking the family assets and even the car with him. He had maxed out the credit cards before leaving. According to Karen, Peter’s boss said that he had stollen 20k before disappearing.
Karen and her daughter , Silken, have been left penniless and desperate. Karen is not eligible for welfare or some other types of financial assistance because legally she is still married. In just a few days she and her daughter will be evicted from their house because they have not enough money to pay the rent.
Is that a bird? Superman? Or Lynn…
Some prominent members of the BC chess community know where Peter Stockhausen is hiding, but they will not tell the wife! She can not sue him for child support, alimony or divorce until Peter is found. If the BC chess community gets its way, Karen and her daughter will spiral down some unknown path that will see them living on the streets, exposed to the elements and disease.
The BC chess community kept a lid on the disappearance of Peter for 2 months (!), until July of this year when Karen put some of Peter’s chess books up for sale on EBAY. Then the cat was out of the bag: the rest of the Canadian chess community learned for the first time that a twice-President of the Canadian Chess Federation had gone missing. In any other country, such news would be disseminated the very first day!
At first we were confused and anxious: was he kidnapped? Killed? Did the police know? What were they doing?
It was at this time that Roger Patterson posted an email stating that Lynn Stringer had made enquiries and had found out that Peter was alive and well. (Above references) But it was clear to everyone that something was missing, that perhaps a coverup was taking place. While since denied, it is obvious that the BC chess community was not going to reveal the where abouts of Peter.
In Lynn Stringer’s posting above it is only too apparent that Lynn is not telling the truth. She hates Karen. She does not even mention her name. A normal person, upon hearing the bizarre disappearance of a friend, would have first called the wife! Instead Lynn supposedly spoke to others and discovered that Peter was alive and well…
Did Lynn then call Karen and try to reassure her? NO! She kept quiet…because it was all a lie in the first place!
If you take a look at the public postings by Roger Patterson, Jon Berry, and J.Lohner (all BC chess players), IN THE 2 MONTHS SINCE THE OFFICIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (in the chess community) of Stockhausen’s disappearance, you will notice that not once does any of these respectable gentlemen even mention the wife or child. Not once do they express even the most minimal interest in the plight of the family! Or sympathy….It is as if the family was irrelevant.
What does this say about them? Don’t tell me it is just bad manners…
