Chess, condoms, underwear & Punk music
Weird Chess Shit

Chess has always been a part of our collective human heritage. Art, music, literature, culture, business and dozens other creative, independent and sustainable endeavors all incorporate some aspect of the game into their activities. And what a WEIRD show this can be!
Chess, Birth Control & Condoms

Is Vishy Anand aware of how his successes and superstardom in India is being exploited for commercial ends? While chess is no stranger to the world of condom commercials, Durex is very much engaged inside India, promoting its products as a means of birth control and hence population reduction. Chess is a big part of this advertising campaign.
Of course, something like 95% of India’s sexually active population do not use any form of birth control. But 5% of India’s population is still a VERY large market compared to other countries.
There are many brands of condoms being marketed, as we can see below, but what makes Durex stand out is their very pro active campaign of promoting social responsibility and concern about the future of India.

Chess & Police Recruits
Here is a cool recruitment add for the Singapore Police Force.
The Singapore Police Force is the Republic’s main police agency tasked with maintaining law and order in the island city-state. Formerly known as the Republic of Singapore Police it has grown from an 11-man organisation to a 38,587 strong force. Singapore has been ranked consistently in the top five positions in the Global Competitiveness Report in terms of its reliability of police services. It even has its own FACEBOOK and YouTube account!

Chess and Australian Music Bands
No I am not talking about the musical Chess. That is old hat! Dozens of modern musical groups have incorporated concepts from the game of chess into their particular style of music. And down south (Australia) you need both hands to keep track…Enjoy!
Meet CHESS!
“We are a strategy based post punk band”

CHESS is a young Melbourne, Australia 4 member group, 3 of which are women! Not so clear to me how to identify the chess content, but maybe I am just too old to appreciate it. But I do love the sound!
Meet the CHESS COUNTESS!

“Chess Countess is the alias of New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based songstress, Tamsyn Miller, who is well known for her soaring vocals and extensive vocal range, built over years of experience as a classically-trained vocalist. Chess works on blending the two contrasting worlds of classical and pop to create a unique, bordering-on-theatrical experience.
She has supported artists such as Eric Clapton, Tom Jones and Jimmy Barnes at the Mission Winery Concerts in the past, as well as sung in Andrea Bocelli’s backing choir and performed as a backing vocalist for George Benson on his NZ Tour in 2010. She performed at the 2012 Auckland Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park event, alongside the likes of Guy Sebastian, Jamie McDell and Ria.”
Chess & Underwear
Chess underwear and lingerie?! Why not! Infact, I like the idea! Here is a classy video promoting one such brand…
