Understandably, spectating chess can be DULL and BORING and one would EXPECT most spectators to fall asleep at one point or another during the game. But, alas, the above photo is NOT from a chess tournament, instead some vacationers at a beach resort…perhaps a bit too much sex the night before?!

NOW here is a REAL chess tournament!
This COULD be at a chess tournament:

And while I am at it, I CAN NOT resist putting this HILARIOUS real life video of how NOT to wake up sleeping people:

GM ALEX LESIEGE RETURNS TO CHESS!
After disappearing from the chess world for more than a decade–and except for a blitz tournament last year–Montreal born Alexandre Lesiege seems to be ready to make a return to the game! Last week the FQE(Quebec Chess Federation) sponsored a two-game rapid chess match (15-min plus 10 seconds per move) between Evgeny Bareev (who has decided to make Canada his new home) and the Montreal grandmaster.
The match took place at the Montreal Chess Club. The first round (game) was a solid draw, while the second round saw the Russian superstar come out fighting and make a surprise sacrifice that came close to winning by force:
Black appears to have everything under control…infact, at first sight his game looks promising…
16.Bxg7!
A strong sacrifice that is worth atleast a draw. The idea is to draw forward the Black King…
16…KxB 17.Nh5+! Kg6! 18.g5?! Be4?
19.Rf6+!
White is now winning! I won’t give the rest of the game (you can find some analysis HERE) but try to remember that this was a rapid game and Bareev even LOST!
