Chess, potpourri and nonsense
SOMETHING TO DO WITH CHESS?

Released in 2003, featuring the collaboration between soul singer supreme Ron Isley and composer and arranger Burt Bacharach. Long time friends, you might find this story interesting. The album cover says it all: nothing fancy, informality, sweaters and a chess board; each comfortable with their musical mastery. I especially like the song ‘Count on me‘ below. ENJOY!

Closely related to the ‘skewer’ theme, this is a really cool tactic that you might want to try in your own games whenever neither arbiter nor spectator(s) is nearby…provided there are no prints on the knife, what is to connect the knife to you?? Anything the opponent might argue is nothing more than ‘he said…she said’ nonsense. IN THE picture above, however, there is both a spectator and an arbiter (masked, in the background), and as such you would likely be charged with a CRIME…

While this musical collection from Chess Records has very little (nothing) to do with our noble game, it does contain ONE SONG that every chess player would LOVE to sing to his opponent…IF the arbiter would just let him! (But he NEVER would let you, and if you did sing it you can be sure that FIDE would have you suspended for atleast one year…)

At 25 cents it is still over-priced!

I think they did a TV series on this in the ’60s (but they might have changed the name first!?)
