The end of the Carlsen myth ?
The whole world was watching (according to chess.com) and the most decisive moment in the career of 25-year old Magnus Carlsen was a…piss in the wind. Draw in 30 moves after most of the pieces were exchanged in an orgy of impotence.
Long ago it was predicted that modern chess under the Kirsan-FIDE rule would result in the death not just of chess sponsorship, but in public interest in the game. Bravo to Carlsen for having to depend on the fine-print of tie break rules for calling himself World Champion!
