BREAKING NEWS!! BREAKING NEWS!!
”I’m deeply disappointed…” but the show must go on!
Following yesterday’s surprise decision by the FIDE presidential meeting in Baku to ignore Team Carlsen’s protest of the lack of due process in the bidding for the upcoming world title match between Norwegian Carlsen and Indian Anand, many expected Carlsen to do the ”Fischer-thing” and refuse to participate, thereby making Kramnik (as co-winner of the London Candidates Tournament) the substitute.
INSTEAD, in a public statement that did not try to hide his pain and profound disappointment with FIDE, the Norwegian superstar has decided to IGNORE the political obstacles that have been put in his way and fully intends to go to India and wrestle the title away from Anand.
