Barcelona Magistral: Anton and Duda tie for 1st
David Anton wins on tiebreak!
Defeats Duda in dramatic last round encounter
(David in play during the last round. He ‘sacrificed’ two pieces for Rook and 2 pawns, went into the ending and won!)
An exciting last round where the Spanish star needed nothing less than a win against the Polish grandmaster Duda, who was leading going into the last round by one full point. Rising to the occasion, Anton kept his opponent under constant pressure and won the game in 49-moves. Also worth mentioning Lopez’s powerful win over Naiditsch with the Black pieces.
